Do Partners-In-Prayer Need
To Fear
SARS?
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
The fear of
SARS is sweeping the world as hospitals close their doors and folks are quarantined by the government. Others hide themselves in their homes, others resort to wearing masks in public.
This is understandable. SARS is a serious illness and is deadly in
what appears to be about three out of one hundred cases.
Should
we, as believers in Partners-In-Prayer, the truth!, be fearful too?
Well, as unusual
as it may sound, what we believe and trust
in makes us different in certain ways than the rest of the general population
of the world. How can I make such a statement, you may be wondering.
Actually it's not I that makes that claim but rather Jesus Christ!
Let's investigate to see what this wonderful truth means to us.
Christ tells
us through the pages of the Bible that His true believers will be endowed
with powers that others will not possess. We can read of this in Mark
16: 17-18
"And these signs will accompany those who believe:
in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they
will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt
them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
And this is not the only
place where we are told that we will be given the power to perform miracles.
Jesus said that in times to come after His resurrection, His true followers
would be able to perform greater works than He performed Himself. John 14:12,
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father."
Christ expects us, when
we have the chance, to use these powers that He has freely given us. In
Luke 19: 20-22 we read of this, "And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up
that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And
he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant."
In these troubled
times of war and sickness we need to trust in God's promises and move forth
with confidence in the power that God has given to us. The power to work miracles. Maybe small ones,,,, maybe miracles that go unnoticed by the rest of the world,,, but miracles nonetheless.
Try it and see for yourself!!!
The next time someone you
know and love becomes sick with flu like symptoms, rather than hide from
that child or person, seek him or her out and use your healing power. No
one even needs to know that you are doing anything more than visiting, for
you will know and God will know. That's enough!
Simply hold the sick child's hand for a moment,,, or brush
back the hair from his or her forehead,,,, and as you do so, simply think
a quick prayer to God and ask Him to send His healing power through you to
the sick child (or adult). We need not even close our eyes,,,, simply
ask God in your mind to heal the person as you are touching him. It
need only take an instant.
Then expect the healing to start. The healing will
often start immediately with the sick person starting to feel a little better,
or it might take a while for the improvement to show up.
Christ healed lepers. He touched those with infectious diseases to heal them and was not infected Himself.
We can do the same. God will listen to (and many
times answer with a "Yes") our prayers for the healing of others. He
wants us to do it for others. Not for our own glory and certainly not for money or to make a living.
In these troubled times, we need not fear being quarantined,
but rather we need to take action to heal others who may be coming down with
SARS. Our prayer and touch of intercession may be what is needed to
prevent the flu from turning into SARS. God says He will protect us.
We would NOT want to deliberately
pick up a snake and dare it to bite us but God promises us that if we are
going about His work and one does happen to bite us,,,, then we will not
be killed by it. And similarly, if we are reaching out to a child or
sick person as a Partner-In-Prayer to share God's healing,,,, He will protect us from being killed by what they have!
God wants us to experience the thrill
of knowing within ourselves that we have been the tool through which He performs
a miracle for someone. Our belief is what counts as God puts no qualifications
on the sick person.
Let God's signs follow you! He promises that they will.
Now more than ever, with SARS afflicting mankind, the world needs those who believe as Partners-In-Prayer, the truth!!!
If you believe what you have read and heard here at Partners-In-Prayer.org,,,
God's signs will surely follow you!! IF YOU TRY,,,, YOU WILL PERFORM MIRACLES!!!
